We are a group focussing on wildlife and the environment in Tilehurst. Anyone is welcome to join whatever their age, background or experience. We set up the group to share wildlife encounters, nature-related photographs, ideas and news, and socialise through events in Tilehurst. The aim is to inspire people to take action for and increase their knowledge of the nature where we live.
We arrange bat walks, nature walks and talks.
We promote citizen science and have bat detectors and wildlife trail cameras available.
We started in March 2024 after being inspired by the Team Wilder initiative run by BBOWT (Berkshire Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust). Find out more here https://www.bbowt.org.uk/team-wilder
We gratefully received our initial sponsorship from a fund set up by TVERC (Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre) and managed by TOE (Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment).
This money allowed us to pay for our first year's Public Liability Insurance, this website and other equipment such as bat detectors and trail cameras.
